Engineering Service

We understand this industry’s regulation, and our customers’ objectives. Our goal is to let our customers meet regulations and to run the business successfully. We offer a variety of cannabis and hemp production facility services to help you meet codes and regulations.

Facility Layout:

Our licensed engineers can help you with the initial step of your facility layout and equipment selection. We help you setup the facility, from extraction to crystallization. We will help you not only with the layout, but also help you understand proper room designation and why some equipment needs to be in a C1D1/D2 room versus a non-classified location.

MEP Engineering and Architects:

We are partners with cannabis MEP engineers in the industry that will help you with the complete building plans and approvals from the local jurisdiction for your facility.

Fire Protection Engineering (Hazard Report):

A cannabis extraction facility Hazard Analysis Report is for the evaluation of the equipment, the facility, and operation procedure. We have 25+ years of experience FPE in fire protection engineering to deliver the comprehensive report.

Process Piping Peer Review:

Any facility that utilizes process piping, needs a process piping peer review that analyzes the safety of the overall equipment and facility. An overall closed system that requires multiple components such as: extraction, evaporation, decarboxylation, distillation and crystallization, can be considered as a process piping system depending on the facility and needs to be analyzed as such. Our engineers have years of experience in analyzing process piping per the proper codes:

  • IFC/CFC 3904.4 (International Fire Code)
  • NFPA 1: 38.6.1.5.6.1(National Fire Protection Association)
  • NFPA 30
  • NFPA 58
  • NFPA 55
  • ASME-BPVC 2018
  • ASME B31.3
  • Any other jurisdiction-specific codes

Field Verification:

A field verification is when a PE (Professional Engineer) travels to the specified facility to inspect a system or systems with accordance to a set standard. The standard is highly depended on the system setup in accordance with the manufacturer’s requirements, usually provided as an EPR (Engineering Peer Review).

  • IFC/CFC 3904.4 (International Fire Code)
  • NFPA 1: 38.6.1.5.6.1(National Fire Protection Association)

Facility Inspection Report:

A field inspection is when a PE (Professional Engineer) travels to the specified facility to inspect the facility with accordance to a set standard.

Facility Inspection is required per:

  • IFC/CFC 3904.4 (International Fire Code)
  • NFPA 1: 38.6.1.5.6.1(National Fire Protection Association)

Engineering Peer Review:

An EPR is a process through which professional engineers evaluate, maintain, or monitor the quality and utilization of engineering services, prepare internal lessons learned, or exercise any combination of such responsibilities.

An EPR consists of :

  • NFPA Code Requirements (National Fire Protection Association)
  • SOP (Standard Operating Procedure)
  • PVC (Pressure Vessel Calculations)
  • Chemical Compatibility
  • Parts Specification
  • Structure Analysis
  • Electrical and Control System Analysis
  • Thermal Analysis
  • Warning Signage
  • System Photographs
  • Further information can be requested:
  • OEM Manual (Original Equipment Manufacturer)

Why do I need both Peer Review and Field Review?

An EPR defines the specification of a system with accordance to NFPA codes. A Field Review is an inspection based on the EPR and a set of requirements based on the system’s surroundings and safety.
